These terms cover the Gamble B Gone Android app and this website. By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What the app is
Gamble B Gone is a voluntary, self-help tool that blocks gambling websites on your Android phone and can make it harder to switch protection off during a commitment you choose. It is not medical care, therapy or treatment for gambling disorder, and it isn't a substitute for professional help. If gambling is harming you or someone you know, call 1-800-GAMBLER (24/7, US). If you are in crisis, call or text 988.
Who can use it
The app is meant for adults 18+, and for parents, guardians or accountability partners who set it up with the knowledge of the person whose phone it is on. You must have the right to install software on the device.
Your choices and commitments
- Every protection feature is opt-in. Each one is explained on screen before you turn it on.
- When you start a commitment, you choose its length. While it runs, the app is designed to resist turning protection off, disabling it or uninstalling it. Please choose a length you are comfortable with.
- When the commitment ends, the app releases on its own. In guardian mode, the guardian's PIN can end it early.
- Android Safe Mode remains an emergency way to uninstall the app at any time. It takes deliberate effort on purpose. Our support page explains how.
No guarantee of blocking
The app blocks a built-in list of gambling sites plus any you add. No blocklist is complete. Some sites, apps, other networks, other devices, or deliberate workarounds may not be blocked. Gamble B Gone resists ordinary uninstall attempts; it is not unbreakable. We don't promise any particular result.
Purchases
The app includes a 7-day free trial, then a monthly subscription ($5.99/month) or a one-time lifetime purchase ($45), in US dollars. Prices in other countries may differ. All payments, renewals, cancellations and refunds are handled by Google Play under Google's terms. You can cancel a subscription any time in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not end an active commitment early.
Permissions the app uses
With your consent, the app uses Android's VPN service (as an on-device filter only), an optional Accessibility service (Maximum Lockdown) and an optional Device Admin with no admin powers. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what each one does and doesn't do.
Acceptable use
Don't use the app to monitor or restrict someone without their knowledge, and don't reverse-engineer it to defeat its protections for others.
Disclaimer and limits
The app and website are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent the law allows, Forgewell Studios is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including gambling losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Changes
We may update these terms. We'll change the effective date above and, for significant changes, mention it in the app's release notes.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, except where your local consumer law says otherwise.
